You Seem To Love The Hell Out Of My Offbeat Ideas, So Here's Another One 😂
But I'm low-key devastated that nobody likes my travel stories anymore.
I’ve been noticing a down-spiral in interest levels on my travel tales over the last several months. My last wacky business idea earned double the engagement that my last THREE travel stories did.
It’s breaking my spirit a little bit.
However, I took time to consider that I sometimes get tired of reading about other people’s travels too, because I’m not the one out there doing it! We can only be armchair tourists for so long before we get angry and frustrated that we’re not living our best Indiana Jones.
So, I guess it’s time for more lightbulbs to turn on. But this one isn’t just silly on the outside…it’s pretty practical on the inside.
I came up with this idea after finding out my mother has an actual 8x11 sheet of paper scribbled up on BOTH SIDES with the passwords to her entire life. When she dies I inherit that pile of chicken scratch and I’ll need to use it to crack the DaVinci code that was once her life.
I say that in jest but can we just be real for a minute? I actually have had to crack that code for a departed loved one before and it’s no picnic if you don’t have the right tools.
This post isn’t just about dead people’s passwords, though. It’s about your life here and now.
Three cheers to the internet for turning our lives into Fort Knox.
Do you ever wonder what you'd do if your laptop blew a gasket and all your auto-saved passwords disappeared? Or if you bought a new laptop and had to re-log into every website and app you’ve ever used?
Where I’m from, we even have all our healthcare information locked into an app that we haven’t used since the pandemic because we forgot our passwords.
Sometimes I think that is the ONLY thing that keeps me from buying new laptops. I know what huge job it is to change passwords simply because I don’t know WTF they are.
ENTER: This weeks dorky but fun and practical idea:
This completely unnecessary but oh-so-useful (and practical) notebook is a unique and campy gift idea! 😁 Nobody needs this but you also didn’t need that last bucket of Rocky Road ice cream either, did you?
Plus, this looks way cooler than my mom’s chicken scratch.
*jingle jingle* Stocking stuffers anyone?
I’m giving you access to this fully customizable Canva template.
Wondering what’s inside the booklet? Click the blue button and you can toggle through the pages.
When you get this template you’ll be able to change the colours, change the order of pages, duplicate or delete pages, and change or delete any of the placeholder text I’ve put in there. I think I’ve covered almost all the bases but of course, you'll have different uses for it in your life. This template is all editable.
That’s the beauty of Canva!
Oh, and for the less-sweary people, you can change the WTF to WTH. The point is…make it your own!! I’ve just done the dirty ground work for you.
In my opinion, the “Streams of Income” page alone is worth having the whole book. When was the last time you sat down and took stock of all the places you’re earning money? I counted at least ten. It’s a bit mind-blowing.
If you don't know how to use Canva, let me know what you want customized/edited and I'll do it for you. There’s a ‘HELP ME’ option when you check out.
Once you've customized it the way you want it, you can either print the pages yourself and collate them into a booklet, get it printed at a printshop near you, OR you can order the booklet straight through Canva (pricier but also simpler).
There you go. No travel. Just another one of my brain dumps to amuse you.
Christmas is around…I think I just did your shopping for you. 🎅🎄
Have you ever had to remember or reinvent ALL your passwords because you couldn’t remember WTH they were?
Are you going to give this booklet to your mother for Christmas?
Fantastic notebook idea! I need one of those for the in-laws lol
Ah yes- the aging parent’s password conundrum. When we got mom a phone she didn’t even understand the concept, so I made her password myself and put it on its own sheet of paper on my bulletin board in case anyone in the family ever needs it.
My own passwords are like the wounded on a battlefield. Some are lost in the trenches, others are trying to communicate back to command, some are on undercover missions behind enemy lines. It’s a war out there. I have daily casualties and I have to recruit new password soldiers every day.
When my mother died, we found 3 password books! Twice she started new ones 🤦🏼♀️ and sometimes the passwords weren't the passwords, regardless of which book chosen! She been gone 5 years and about 3 weeks ago we found another one hidden behind a metal box my dad thought was full of ancient birthday cards. He finally decided it was time to get it down from the really high shelf and get rid of them only to discover the box was empty! But we'll never know if this new book was 'the one'
