I just put a name on your new fun-money idea.
YOU: “Wait…what? You haven’t even written anything yet!” 😆
Okay, let’s start from the top. The big fat idea for this post hit me the moment I found the coolest thing but realized I couldn’t use it. It’s not available in Canada, and yes, I’m annoyed about that, but also not really because it’s not “made in Canada,” and I have to be patriotic right now.
So, I’m here to pass the baton to Americans about this potential money-maker because that’s what polite Canadians do. Also, because I want EVERYONE to succeed at something fun and enjoyable!
*****UPDATE!!!!! 3 hours after this post went live, somebody purchased the suggested domain name and ran with the idea!! I love whoever did this!!!*****
Remember way back in the early days when I wrote about mugging people? Of course you don’t because I only had 124 subscribers back then.
Here’s a refresher because it’s sort of relevant to today’s story.
The boring nuts and bolts part of this fun-money idea:
There’s a US-based company called Printify. It’s just like all those other print-on-demand getups where you can create your own designs, slap them onto products such as mugs and t-shirts, and sell them in your online shop.
The problem with that general idea is that EVERYONE and their mother’s dog is trying to make money selling their P.O.D designs. There are millions of stores on Shopify, Etsy, Wordpress, Squarespace, and blah blah blah, and every store sells a hundred different items.
However… Printify is the only supplier I have found that offers “Pop Up Shops.”
With a pop-up shop, you don’t have to commit to setting up a whole store (I’ve tried Shopify, it’s a friggin nightmare). You don’t have to dabble in Etsy or any online platforms to sell your product(s). With a pop-up shop, you get a unique per-product link with a URL hosted by Printify that can be shared with friends, family, or on social media, allowing anyone to purchase your product(s) anywhere.
Printify handles the creation of your product, fulfillment, shipping, and more.
Here’s what I would do if this opportunity were available to me:
