I've got a story for you on karma:
I had been unemployed for a number of years. I had applied for tons of jobs with no luck. I stopped applying for a few years because I was frustrated. In late 2022, I needed a job because someone who was helping me with money decided to stop providing it, which suddenly left me with no way to pay rent and bills. It was a desperate situation. I told one of my subscribers/fellow writer on Substack thru email what I was going through. She told me she would pray for me and my Mom (I take care of her). I applied for jobs the next two days. On day three, I interviewed for a job and was hired on the spot.
I owe a lot to her praying for us. I did a lot of praying too but what are the chances that I mention that to her and she says that and then "viola", I get a job!
Things work in mysterious ways. I'm so grateful for her support. And if there is ever anything I can do for her or her family, she can count on me.

I used to be more skeptical until I asked for a sign ( in frustration) and received one that was definitely clear. I'll be keeping my eye out for that 20.
Tree, I also used to be more skeptical. I think I became a TRUE believer after losing someone dear to me. I begged for signs and received so many that I couldn't deny it any longer! But even before that, I have always understood that the world works in mysterious ways.
I effing LOVE this. Call it karma, synchronicity, or harmonic convergence: these are moments that make life magical. But no, I didn't look in my wallet to see if that twenty is in there because twenties burn holes in my wallet that must immediately be extinguished by reducing them to smaller denominations. Usually via buying coffee.
Hahahaa Jan! It's hard hanging onto cash isn't it? I know it'll never turn back up in my wallet because it's USD. Although, could you imagine if I was ever on vacation stateside again, and that twenty crossed my path?
These types of stories are fascinating to me! I honestly don't know whether I believe in mysterious forces at play, or just a heightened awareness that allows our minds to draw connections. But a world of mysterious forces is much more fun to live in, so I'll choose that!

I was slotted to speak after dinner (which I will never do again because everyone was falling asleep). It shook my confidence and I was unsure if I wanted to keep going down this path of teaching and speaking. I asked for a very clear sign of what to do and requested it be that day.
That night my friend and I were asleep in the main cabin in a second story room. There was a dormer window and I woke up just before midnight to a small cat meowing behind the screen in our window. I thought nothing of it but I did notice the time.
The next day my friend and I were walking far from the lodge, we went down a trail by the river and ended up in a meadow where we were sitting on a log. Who shows up but that kitty, all alone, just as we were talking about my next, right steps! Given that it showed up the day I asked for a sign in a very unexpected place and again in a very unexpected place I took this as a sign of what to do.
One of those things that makes you go hmmm. May that twenty find it's way back to you as one more reminder there is much more going on than we can imagine.
Ahhh ... that's an important clarification for me. Thanks. "Clear" is the critical part ... I was looking for significance in the "kitty" part. I am trying to make a significant decision so I will use this understanding.

It wasn’t til I saw the cat a second time that I realized it was a couple minutes before midnight and I had asked for a clear sign that day.
There’s a kind of magic associated with Nola. Your $20 is another example. I bet you find out where it is now.
