The female "DJ" with pictures of her ass and tiddies and ZERO music references are my favorite. If you can't cue with them put them away. If you can't cue at all, go away, lol.
Love this perspective. Influencing people in the right way, rather than just selling crap. This is even more applicable to the younger generations who have been so influenced to think that unless they become a rich 'n' famous tiktok/youtub er basically they have failed in life. Real problem. Causes real angst and existential crisis s*** in kids who should be young enough to be still playing at the park, on their bike, or just mucking about in a swimming pool. More of this - less of the "you tube mansion" folks would be good for a more balanced world.
I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is they were born into this age of media. We oldies knew a life before the internet and these kids don't. To them, this IS normal.
I've been thinking a ton about what I'm chasing and why. And I got lost along the way a bit.
Our environment shapes what we want. What we consume can get in the way of what we want to create. Seeing "everyone" talking about how to make money online only made me want to make money online. But that's not actually what I want to do.
I want to share what I've learned in a ways that help people. Like, that's it. I don't need to earn six-figures a day from monetizing every single thing. I don't want to create leads and funnels and optimize every single thing I make. That might make me more money, but will it be fun for me? Probably not. And that's a metric that matters to me.
And not fun in the quick-hit-dopamine way. I mean in the life-affirming-I'm-glad-to-be-alive version of fun.
Amy, I could have written this word for word!!! Sure I'd LOVE to make tons of money while sales funnels are working for me but I'd rather earn a comfortable living while making a personal impact teaching what I know. I honestly could not agree more with you ππ
Most every day, my partner and I look at each other and say, βWeβre so fortunate.β We long ago decided to live the good life rather than follow societal pressures. Not much money but so much in living.
Hi Kristi, so good to see your readership / engagement grow on here. I had some time away from my pieces and have just fallen in love with your writing again :) I'm always chasing the next thing to help improve my dopamine production. sometimes I just need to appreciate what I have and who I am.
I love your post. We are talking the same language. I often write about humanity's biggest threat is their relentless pursuit of money. Above all else, they want more money than they know what to do with. Where as the reality is we should be chasing fulfillment. Doing something we love doing that has no conditions attached to it. Following our heart. True fulfillment is priceless.
This is true. Unfortunately, the way the economy is and keeps going, it has made it almost impossible for us to NOT pursue money because we need plenty of it to have any kind of life.
The economy is the way it is because of people's obsessive need to pursue money and have more money than they know what to do with. It all comes from fear and not ever having enough or some other belief system. There is a better way to be. If you are going to need a lot of money, you may as well have fun getting it :-)

Sadly yes don't envy today's youth
I wish I could post an applause gif because that's all I have to say to this post. (Had to make sure I didn't type applesauce before hitting post.)
Applesauce!!!!! Here's an applause for you π

Those with the most toys have never realized the important things in life and never found true happiness.
That is why they have the most toysβ¦
And yes, they die too!!
Usually miserably and alone β¦ LOL
Thank you!!
Right? I wonder if any super wealthy people are truly happy Because they always seem to just chase more wealth.
Yes. The rat race... addicted to power and greed... and it will never be enough .. the more they have, the more they want.
And celebrities amassing MILLIONS while others live in tent cities around the corner in Hollywood. It baffles me.
Yes! And yet they are the small fish.. the real greed deals in billions these days.

How about a hint first? I hate clicking on links I can't recognize. Call me paranoid lol
It is my podcast on the subject.
It is about the housing shortage deception.
A soft rock band perhaps not well remembered any more, was Firefall. I always liked their line "Material possessions are the road to hell...."
βAnd all your money will not another minute buy.β - Kansas, βDust in the Wind.β
could not be more obsessed with that insta vs real life photo.
it has all gotten extremely exhausting, hasn't it?
Hahaha Kristen, Google Celeste Barber. She has SO MANY of these fake vs real life comparisons. She is GOLD π€£
βFYI, thatβs not how real people go to the poolβ ππ― perfect

Rachel, I love that you purposely choose to recognize that you're fortunate. Mindset makes such a difference.
